The University of Barcelona will be present, once again, at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit that will be held on November 5, 6 and 7 at the Fira Barcelona Gran Vía venue within the framework of the Smart City Expo World Congress.
The event will bring together researchers, companies and investors with the aim of promoting the development of disruptive technologies in areas such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and robotics, among others.
The UB spin-offs that will attend the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit are the following:
ColorSensing: Works to reduce food waste thanks to the development of a smart packaging solution that makes it possible to detect failed packaged products before they reach the consumer in a non-destructive way.
Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech: Dedicated to the development and commercialization of specific quantum computers for AI, materials simulation and optimization applications with the aim of achieving early advantages in the market.
Virmedex: They develop clinical training programs based on gamified simulations. Its technology is adaptable to the training needs of nursing and medical schools, as well as hospitals, health centers and clinical device manufacturers.
Roundtable on how to approach deep tech transfer
The director of the Innovation and Valorization Unit of the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, Lurdes Jordi, will participate in a round table on Tuesday, November 5 at 4:15 p.m. at the Auditori Deep Tech Summit.
In this session, the challenges and opportunities involved in technology transfer from universities to industry in the context of deep tech technologies will be discussed.
The Barcelona Deep Tech Summit is promoted by Barcelona Activa and five Catalan universities (UB, UAB, UPC, UPF and UOC). The event will serve to explore new opportunities and create a critical mass to promote the Deep Tech industry, which develops the technologies that will change the future.
